How tidy/messy is your 5 year old?

DD is just sooo messy. She leaves her stuff everywhere and then has a fit when she can’t find anything. She has plenty of storage in her room so it’s not that. I’ve shown her how to put things away and she still just drops stuff everywhere. She has a 2 year old sister so I’m worried about her grabbing stuff she shouldn’t so I do end up cleaning up myself but not sure how to get her to pick up her stuff.

This morning alone she can’t find some sticky tape and stickers I gave her yesterday and left a pen and sharpner where DD2 can grab them.

My 5yo is very tidy. My 9yos, on the other hand, are incredibly messy.

Mine is 50/50 depends what mood she is in and me

I find less is more though, we are managing better after a huge declutter, else she gets overwhelmed & won't/can't find stuff.

I have a five year old daughter. Bedroom looks like a bomb site some days, and seems to have no idea what 'tidy' could possibly mean.

Yet, she comes home with star of the day from school for helping tidy up 🤔

I have two stepdaughters, 4 & 8. They live with us 12 days out of 14.

We have a cleaner that comes once a week. When we get home on that day, I run in first to let a blissful moment of clean tidiness sink in before the children tornado tears through the house moments later. I think the lovely empty spaces offend them on some level.
