How long did it take to stop Bfeeding toddler

I am trying to stop feeding ds 2.4, now into third day clear, he is still asking but not getting upset when I say no he is getting too big. I stopped dd at around the same age as we went on holiday for a week and she just didn’t ask, then first night back she asked and I explained that she was getting too big and she never asked again. How long did it take before your toddlers stopped asking?

3 days seems to be a turning point, in my experience , so persevere! Well done, it's a tough thing to do!

Ok fingers crossed - I feel guilty when he asks but he has had a good run at it and I am so over breastfeeding now - has a 6 week break in 5 years. Feel a little bit sad though

Don't feel guilty! If it helps, I weaned my dd at 20 months. 4 months later, I had my Ds and she was mystified as to what I was doing with my boobs! I offered her some expressed milk; she tried it and said 'yuk.' So

Hmmm. Well. My DD was fully weaned at 2.4, but still asks every now and again at 4.8... I doubt she would know what to do but then again she still suckles in her sleep sometimes... It was a long time after weaning (at least a year) before I could go topless around her without her having a crack at latching on.

Sigh.

Following this as dd will soon be 2. My ds stopped at 3y3 months, he's 5 now and still loves to snuggle my boobs I have to prise him away. Don't want dd to be the same.
