At what point does a headache become more than just a headache?

I've been suffering since Friday, started with vision disturbance which lasted an hour, then got a bad headache. It just hasn't got any better, I'm mainlining paracetamol and ibruprofen which is allowing me to just about function.

I've had the odd migraine in the past and I don't feel it's at that degree of pain. I can function with effort.

I'm deathly pale and feel a bit woozy.

Is it some kind of virus? Seems a bit ott to make a gp appt for a headache.

No, it really isn't. I had the same a couple of years ago and my gp instructed me to go straight to a&e with a suspected subarachnoid hemorrhage. After a few days of various tests, thankfully it wasn't. This is not me scaremongering, just go and get it checked. I thought just like you and thought it was a severe migraine. Please just go, perhaps even the walk in centre today?

neurologist advised me (as a severe migraine sufferer) that haemorrhage is 'like no pain you can imagine' when i asked, i was concerned due to family history.

would say a migraine they can vary from sickness visual disturbance to pain so bad banging your head against a brick wall becomes appealing

I don't know, but I'm kind of wondering the same. Except my headache is probably milder, but has lasted longer. I thought I had a virus or something at the start of February, and the headaches just haven't quite disappeared, and after a lull have now picked up and are kind of there all the time. I'm also dizzy and getting blurred vision every day. I'm taking turns with co-codamol and ibuprofen. I can function, but it's a bit miserable.

I've been putting off doing anything about it, since I CAN function and it's not a horrible pain. I've always assumed if it's something serious it'll be horrible. But I'm going to have an eye test on Tuesday, and if there's nothing of note in that, will see my GP as soon as I can after that, if it's still the same.

Thanks, I will see how it is tomorrow and give the GP a call, unfortunately no walk in centres here and it's not bad enough for a&e.

badly I hope your headache gets resolved soon.
