Time for a game of 'who can be quiet the longest'? Or hide and seek?

RandomMess · 03/03/2019 14:58

My 22 and 13 year old have never improved...

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/03/2019 14:59

My dd is like this. 24/7 Confused

lucysmam · 03/03/2019 15:00

@NuffSaidSam I'm hoping she will go and sit with Dd1, who is Minecrafting on her laptop, for a while!

Omg I thought it was just mine Confused she’s almost 5 and I swear she hasn’t even paused for breath all day
I’ve put toy story on(for the thousandth time) but even that isn’t helping

Shinyletsbebadguys · 03/03/2019 15:37

Ds1 is very much in this stage and he is 6 (extra needs granted )

I swear that boy will pass out from lack of breathing one day....god knows I love that child to death but please....just some peace and quiet (in his defence on the rare occasion he draws breath his brother takes up the mantle of driving mum round the bloody twist....with gusto)

EstrellaDamn · 03/03/2019 15:41

DS is 6 and so lovey right now, but fuck me he has no internal monologue.

I'm sitting reading and he's explaining every single things he's doing with his Lego.

Mummy, this is a blue piece. I'm going to put it here. In the police station. And the bad guys BLAHBLAHBLAH.

He is gorgeous. I love him beyond words. But DD and I were so fucking thrilled when he went out for an hour earlier. Grin

lucysmam · 03/03/2019 15:42

Grin @Shinyletsbebadguys sounds like my two! Were dd1 downstairs too, they'd be competing to be heard Hmm

She's disappeared into the room for now so I've prepared tonight's veg in peace. Sure she'll be back soon though!

I'm hiding in the kitchen making dinner. He's in the bath. I can hear eeeeevery word he's saying. 😬

JuniperGins · 03/03/2019 16:53

My were speech delayed, I spend years worrying and trying to improve their communication.

Roll in five years and they are incessant. Absolutely incessant.

Trying to ignore the youngest but she’s a super talker

EmmaGrundyForPM · 03/03/2019 16:56

Ds2 was like this from.the moment he could talk. A running stream of consciousness. It used to drive me mad. Then he turned 15 and stopped talking and just communicated in grunts. I really missed my chatty boy.

He's now 20 and is reasonably talkative but not too much. So I think hes finally got the balance right!

I promise you that you'll look back on this period with fondness in years to come.

Etino · 03/03/2019 16:59

DD is 22, lives away from home and I swear some days I know everything she’s eaten, every thought she’s had could walk through places I’ve never visited from her descriptions.

DramaAlpaca · 03/03/2019 17:03

Etino you could be describing my DS, who's 25, right there Grin I popped in to see him for a hour this morning & he didn't shut up for a minute.

EstrellaDamn · 03/03/2019 17:29

'I popped in to see him for an hour this morning'

You are living the parenting dream, @DramaAlpaca Grin

Etino · 03/03/2019 17:47

@DramaAlpaca-
👊 little fist bump, I love it really.
