How long did your hotpoint washing machine last?

I have a hotpoint futura washing machine which came with my house. I absolutely hate it. It doesn't get the clothes properly clean, you can't set it up with a delayed start and worst it takes about 3 hrs to do a cottons load. I seem to spend my entire weekend focussed on feeding loads through the machine. I can't put a load on on an evening or before work during the week as it's going to moulder in the machine for ages due to the lack of a timer and long cycle length. I left a Bosch at my old house which was just a far better machine for my needs.

I've been hopeful it'll pack up soon so I can get a new machine with a clear conscience. but just dragged out the paperwork the sellers left us to get the model number so I can replace the mouldy door seal and it was only bought in 2013 Shock

Please encourage me with stories off these wretched hotpoint machines expiring age 6!

I had a Hotpoint that lasted less than 2 years. I replaced it with a basic Siemens that is 15 years old & going strong

We had a Hotpoint that got nothing but abuse and lasted for about 13 years. Our fancy schmancy Bosch lasted a fraction of that before needing repairs.

I hate my Hotpoint. It is on a raised floor so the spin is never going to be silent but its so loud. We've had it two years. It keeps changing the temperature mid cycle for some reason. Possibly because things are shaking loose in it.

Hate my Hotpoint, most infuriating washer ever, the time left jumps around, so it will say 10 mins left before it finishes, I go back and it will then say 15 mins or 20 mins, not good if you want to get washing outside on line before leaving for work etc. It will be replaced upon first thing that goes wrong.

My hotpoint is almost 12 yrs old. Only replaced one thing last year for £5.

I put a wash on in the morning and only get it out at night - as long as the door hasn't been opened it doesn't smell or anything.

I would never buy a hotpoint anything again. Indesit are Hotpoint as well, btw.

All machines I've had have been cheap annoying tat that haven't lasted 3 years. In my defence, I didn't buy the first one, the second one I put down to bad luck, the third one had me convinced it was Hotpoint, not me. I briefly had a Hotpoint dryer but I returned it for a refund when it decided, three months in, what my laundry needed was just tumbling, not drying.

Hotpoint are shite.

We’ve just taken it to pieces to replace the door seal. Unlike every washing machine on a YouTube video the front cannot be removed so it’s taken ages, confirming my opinion it’s a piece of junk. The door seal did not have the drainage hole at the bottom which could explain why it’s so grimly inclined to mankiness. Now fitted a new seal with drainage placed correctly and so far it’s not leaking so may have effected a Renaissance!
