Do you ever take your baby to the hairdressers?

I'm in desperate need of a cut & roots doing but have a 6 week old clingy bf baby.

Would it be wrong to take him to the hairdressers with me? Or should I try track down a mobile hairdresser instead?

At 6 weeks I’d go for a mobile hairdresser. The smell of all the chemicals can be quite strong, so I’d rather have it done at home in a well ventilated room.

I'm currently almost 38 weeks pregnant and asked my hairdresser about this last time - it's a salon that's part of a chain, they said it was absolutely fine to bring a baby and that women do it all the time. Hope that helps!

I did. He generally slept all the way through it. I took him during the week at a quieter time. I'd feed him while my colour was on.

I took DS at 4 weeks to the hairdressers knowing he'd sleep the whole 3 hours, they're young enough then that you can get away with it providing they don't suffer from colic etc

I used to take my baby to the salon. Once he got mobile (and opinionated) I switched to a mobile hairdresser.

I my son has only been in a barbers once, when I took my stepson and a friend. He'll be 6 in may. He's never had a haircut, my last one was 12 years ago and my husband hasn't had his cut in 5 years.

Having said that, I'd get a mobile hairdresser if you can. I've taken my nanny kids to the hairdressers when one was a baby and it was stressful for everyone.

I brought mine and it was fine, but I think a mobile hairdresser would be so much easier.

I brought mine at that age and she slept and bf and was waltzed around by a few stylists. Now at 9mo would be awful.

A baby yes, a toddler no.
