Pet insurance

Slightly boring thread,

Our 4 weeks free insurance runs out tomorrow and the offer is extortionate each month.

Does anyone have any advice on dog insurance, providers, which type of cover we need?

We have a bullmastiff 😁

At the end of my free cover with PetPlan I spoke to one of the advisors about some of the cheaper quotes I’d had and they offered me a further 3 months free. I’ve had the puppy since December but won’t pay until April. I went with lifetime cover.

We use tesco and they've been fabulous. Soo easy to claim.

I've had a hefty claim last year via Kennel Club insurance. The cliam was met without quibble although they were a bit slow. My annual rise was negligible this year.

Definitely get lifetime for the highest value you can afford. Ddog got diagnosed with diabetes at Christmas, he's only young and at least this means we still have insurance for him although god knows what the premiums will b bin renewal.

We have lifetime 5000 with legal and general. Hospitalisation and treatment since end December is already at 2.5k ish.
