dd3 is coming up for age 8 this year and today while chatting with friends have realized that i dont think shes actually had this.
i do remember that she had the letter but was quite poorly on the date so was postponed. this was rebooked but missed due to me being seriously ill in hospital and i was pretty much out of action mobility wise for a good 6 months, having to rely on others to help with school runs and such so i dont think she was done
im not 100% on this and its not in her red book but neither is a couple of her others that she definitely had done and i will ring and check on mon
is it too late now for her to have them done does anyone know? all my other 3 have had every jab so im not against vaccinations before anyone asks it just slipped my mind due to circumstances

She can have them now as catch up if she's missed them, no problem (practice nurse) x

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 03/03/2019 12:30

Don't worry or panic.
Just ring your gp practice and they can book her in. It's not too late to have them and still as important
At least you have remembered now and it can be easily fixed.

I agree, you can do it now. I have just read that there is an outbreak of mumps at Liverpool University. Many of those students will have been born at the time of the Wakefield controversy and might not have had the MMR.

OP this happened to me a few months ago, DD is 5! I just rang my surgery and they arranged for it, they don't have to be pre school age

Girlinthegarden · 03/03/2019 12:52

It's not a problem at all, your surgery should have sent you further letters though.

She can have them now.

@Lorincarajaponica - my DS had single jabs (my decision based on Wakefield) but he only had the 1st Mumps as the single jab for mumps was discontinued in favour of MMR.

He is 14 now _ is he at increased risk of mumps for this reason?

LoniceraJaponica · 03/03/2019 14:01

"my DS had single jabs (my decision based on Wakefield)"

I'm surprised. 14 years ago Wakefield's theory had been well and truly debunked. DD is 18 and I researched the MMR, and was satisfied that the autism link was rubbish, so she had her MMR with no consequences..

I don't know the answer to your question. Maybe ask your GP.

brill, thank you for your replies. i knew that someone would know if she still could
i shall book her in for them first thing in the morning
