DD, 12, has broken her leg

She got the cast on Wednesday and she's really struggling to get around on crutches and with not being able to do things.

Any ideas of what I can do or get her to make life more tolerable? Fun magazines or lap-friendly craft projects? There's only so much screen time she can stand.

Good suggestions from pp regarding learning another language. Are you planning to go abroad, on holiday, this year? If so, she could try to learn that country's?

If she fancies trying crochet I can send her a hook and some bits and bobs of wool. Watch YouTube videos for instructions.

Learn to draw. There are great you tube tutorials about urban sketching and journaling. She can start with a sketch book and some pencils / pens (biros are really cool to use).
