So scared I might be pregnant..

I'm breastfeeding DS 8 months. No periods. My DH and I had unprotected sex once, just once, back in early December. I've peed on a stick but in the evening and after downing loads of water because I was sitting in the bath and swear I felt kicking. Nothing on the test but I'm in the bath now and I feel it again.

I cannot have a third, I just can't but oh god I couldn't abort either. Oh help, please tell me it's just wind.

I think 12 weeks would be far too early to feel kicking, and also at 12 weeks no amount of water is going to dilute that quantity of hcg.
I’m going with wind!!
Can you test again tomorrow to reassure yourself??

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/03/2019 19:51

Test again tomorrow with fmu

Fwiw i felt dc4 and 5 by 12 weeks, dc3 had an anterior placenta

Mmmhmmokdear · 02/03/2019 19:52

After I had my DC, I felt what felt like a baby kicking for a while afterwards both times. It's a known phenomenon. It also could be wind, like PP says.

I quite often have ‘tummy rumbles’ now that I would’ve been convinced were movements if I was pregnant. I think it’s highly unlikely that you’re pregnant and getting negative tests at this late stage. I’d have a blood test to check though- the worry won’t be doing you any good.

Sizeofalentil · 02/03/2019 19:54

This happened to me! I could feel kicking for weeks, but just got negative tests.

I wasn't pregnant, btw.

I think it was my womb contracting / my body gearing up to try to ovulate. Lots of my friends have had this too.

I was convinced I was pregnant for about three months, but then the kicking feeling went.

needthisthread · 02/03/2019 19:56

Very unlikely you would feel movement at this point. More likely to be gas.

Singlenotsingle · 02/03/2019 19:58

It would be too small for you to feel kicking at 12 weeks.

ARandomPoster · 02/03/2019 20:09

I felt movement at 8 weeks. 12 week scan corrected dates to make it 9 weeks when I first felt movement.

However, by now you would get a definite positive, even on an evening after drinking water. Any other symptoms? Did you have symptoms with your other pregnancies.

And i still feel "movement" now, although I'm not pregnant and haven't been for some time. It's just wind.

MyKingdomForBrie · 02/03/2019 23:01

Thank you lovely reassuring people! I definitely didn't feel anything at 12 weeks with my two pregnancies, it's just a different feeling to normal gas but could well be pre-menstrual as my ds has been reducing feeding lately..

I will test with FmU!

After my third baby, I felt the odd kicking for months.

Bigonesmallone3 · 02/03/2019 23:11

I'm pregnant with third and didn't feel a kick til around 18 weeks..
Also when breastfeeding I didn't start to get periods again til baby was over 10 months

babysharkah · 02/03/2019 23:35

I regularly peed on a stick after having dts as I could feel flutters, it was totally psychosomatic it was just wind! I drove myself properly crazy.

PepperSteak · 03/03/2019 06:24

I still get flutters and “kicks” and DD is nearly two. I don’t think twelve weeks is too early to feel something though. My sister could feel things that early with baby number one.

PotteringAlong · 03/03/2019 06:33

It’s probably trapped wind. But, and I’m sure you know this, if you really don’t want another baby then stop having unprotected sex.
