Has anyone done Huel?

DH wants to do it and wants me to join him. We have both lists plenty of weight but have a bit of belly fat left to lose and am wondering if this will help with the final push.
Is it any good?

I have been using it- compared to other protein powder/weight loss shakes, it doesn’t taste as fake or sweet and I generally feel satisfied after eating it. I did 1 or 2 meals a day a normal evening meal and some fruit as snacks with it, but for breakfast I’d usually mix it with some soya milk and a banana to make it more filling for the morning time.
I’ve had a few weeks off it, but planning on starting back on Monday. I did 3 straight weeks and lost about 5lbs, probably could have lost more. I did feel a bit meh after a few weeks, as it took some enjoyment out of meals but I was also having a lot of stress which didn’t help either.

Thanks Willow. Was only considering it for 2 weeks. Probably for lunch or breakfast. Maybe I could do both for a week.

You need to ‘ease into it’, start with one meal a day and work up to two, they recommend you do this too. I did find I had some digestive cramps when I moved to two, think it’s due to the high fibre/mineral content.

I didn't mind the taste (had the unflavoured/unsweetened one) but sadly it gave be horrendous headaches, that I tried lots of different ways to eliminate but couldn't. Which was disappointing because I really liked the idea of it.
Start slowly and give it a try. Their Chocolate Mint flavouring is gorgeous and I'm using it up in other things!

My DP likes it but it does get boring after a while so try not to go overboard or too restrictive on the diet or you'll end up being tempted to binge on crap

I've only just tried it. The "new" vanilla flavour, rather than the original. I found it pretty sweet, and while it was okay-ish, I wouldn't say it was nice. The full three scoops is also not that low in calories - definitely more than what I'd have in my normal breakfast otherwise. Still, it definitely kept me full for quite long.

I'm not particularly focused on weight loss (though I probably should), but have been struggling for motivation for meals, and thought some Huel might be better for me than random picking at various things that are handy and easy...

Thanks all. I am just going to sub it for lunch and see how that goes.

I use it as a meal replacement for when I'm in a rush and find it fully satisfies my hunger and provides sufficient energy for my daily tasks.

I do find it quite difficult to prepare though. A friend of mine gets his very smooth and pleasant. But my preparations can turn out lumpy and a little unpleasant to chug. He's a lot stronger and can shake harder and he leaves his in the fridge overnight. Whereas I just make one as and when and bosh it.

I tried the vanilla one this morning with a bit of coffee in it, and made it with less powder (two scoops, but almost the same water) and shook much longer than 10 seconds, and the result was much, much nicer. That was at 10 am and I'm certainly not hungry again yet, so that's good.
