I've been in from work an hour, have sewn one hem on part of dd2's world book day costume & am thinking about putting tea on. We're having curry so dd2 will have plain chicken with rice and veggies on the side.

Dd1 is hopefully! re-writing some homework she showed me a while ago, written on the scrappiest bit of paper you ever did see Shock. Plenty of decent writing pads & she rips a page from a notebook then tries to convince me the rips and raggy edges don't matter ffs Hmm

Dd2 is talking...a lot...playing with Twinkle the giant unicorn and occasionally popping into the kitchen to check on costume progress. The talking's making my head a bit frazzled...she's been none stop since I walked in!

What's going on at yours? :)

I am lazing around giving moral support & cups of tea to DH while he's trying to put together an Ikea cabinet. Before anyone says anything I'm more than capable of doing it myself, but he offered & I'm feeling lazy Grin

I suppose I should really get up off the sofa & tackle the laundry

DS is in full-on nocturnal student mode & hasn't emerged from bed yet.

heartofthehouse · 02/03/2019 16:43

I have spring cleaned our big living room. It was obviously very overdue because the amount of dust in the hoover is embarrassing.

I realised it needed doing when DD bashed one of the arms on the sofas and a cloud of dust appeared like magic. Real fires are pretty and pretty dusty as well.

Anyway, now everywhere has been hoovered and dusted to within an inch of its life I am sat here, contemplating making a loaf of bread for tomorrow before I making a start on dinner which is going to be this.

IndigoSpritz · 02/03/2019 16:49

Waiting to go into the swimming baths. I hope the pool is warm as my legs and lower back ache.

Wendywoo1000 · 02/03/2019 16:54

Been to 2 football matches
Cooked a curry
Had a bath
Now reading a book
Kids are being lazy on phones and PS4 and storm Freya has arrived.

So we’re relaxing!

Decormad38 · 02/03/2019 16:55

Been interviewing students for prospective HE course all day. Got in chatted to dd now crawled into bed in pyjamas!

ssd · 02/03/2019 16:57

I've just made a cake that is the boys favourite..... Trouble is they've grown up and are too busy to eat cake with their old mum... Ds1 is studying abroad and ds2 has just left the house in a rush for a boys night out.... I miss the days we were all home watching Saturday night telly, all together

It passes sooo quickly....

Lulutheboss · 02/03/2019 16:59

Feeling sorry for myself on the sofa.

I’ve been off work all week with a trapped nerve in my back and in a lot of pain.

Very frustrating because I’m generally a busy person and I don’t like sitting around.

Sigh...

mrsed1987 · 02/03/2019 17:00

I am sat watching the darts. DH is in the garage (his man cave) and DS (7 weeks) is asleep next to me (for now). Just having a good old browse of mumsnet.

CoodleMoodle · 02/03/2019 17:01

Went to work this morning.

Then DH took DD to the library whilst I got DS down for his nap. When he woke up I walked him up to B&M to get something for DD's birthday next week, when we got back DH and DD were painting... so now there's loads of painting stuff to clean up! But it kept her busy so fine.

DS is currently having his last nap on me, then it's burgers for dinner. Beef for us, chicken for DD.

sugarcubed · 02/03/2019 17:06

Went out for lunch and mooched around shops a little. On the way home we went to m&s to buy a load of tv snacks and now we’re just settling down go watch a bit of Clooney in the Oceans trilogy. Saturday sorted! Grin

Aberforthsgoat · 02/03/2019 17:10

I’ve tidied the house, made a huge dent in the frankly horrifying washing
DH has a pal over so they’re chilling with beers and watching football.
I marinated chicken this morning for a curry later (cannot wait), made a batch of scones and popped out for a walk around town when it was sunny

Now home, trying not to eat all the cones and considering a cup of coffee and maybe rewatching Big Little Lies in the bedroom

Blueberryblueberry · 02/03/2019 17:11

DDs had ballet this morning whilst I got laundry and things done this morning. Lovely afternoon in the park with the DC and then a coffee at a cafe afterwards. I've just done a 5k run, DH has just gone out to do a run too now I'm back. DC are chilling on the sofa waiting for a pizza to be delivered. I'm mumsnetting as a reward for getting my arse out for a run and am hoping the DC leave some pizza behind

lucysmam · 02/03/2019 17:17

@heartofthehouse that recipe looks tasty! Might have to try it one day this week coming.

@Lulutheboss I hope you're up and about soon! Being forced to be lazy is no good, I hate being sat about.

DH has been at the football all day with his dad.

DC were tired this morning as they're still recovering from illness so spent the morning watching a film and playing on their ipads. They perked up, so they had home made hotdogs (sausages in a finger roll), cucumber and tomatoes for lunch. Then we went to the garden centre & they had a go in the soft play.

DC1 had an x ray booked this afternoon so took them both to that and then back home. They're just eating tuna pasta bake and then they want to play with the My Little Pony castle while I potter round doing jobs.

I've got some ironing to do later and I might pop down to the clothes donation bank when DH gets home as there are a good few bags in the spare room to be donated.

DH is having dinner out with his dad, so I'm trying to decide what I fancy. I might just go peanut butter on toast. Grin

KitTheCat · 02/03/2019 17:21

Unblocked the toilet 💩
Shopping
Washing
I'm now veging on the sofa.

LarkDescending · 02/03/2019 18:05

Waiting in for my garden stuff (ordered online) to be delivered. Delivery window is any time from 8am to 8pm. Can’t leave the house in the meantime. It’s now too late/dark to plant anything tonight anyway. Should have just gone to the garden centre!

CakeNinja · 02/03/2019 18:13

Cooking up some quesadillas for the dc, they have friends round and they are nice and easy (because we had all the ingredients in the fridge), dp is showering after working today and is making us a steak dinner later on.
Standard evening in our house minus any booze for me as I’m on the health wagon. Booooo!

Lulutheboss · 02/03/2019 18:13

Thanks lucysmam. It’s a real pain in the bum (literally)!

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 02/03/2019 18:14

We have come away for a long weekend skiing. Just relaxing with a glass of wine (or two) before heading out for dinner. Fancy a fondue.

Al2O3 · 02/03/2019 18:31

08:00 - Cooked a full English as kids had a busy week and a well-earned break and a bit of pampering needed this weekend. Watched James Martin.

09:00 - Helped with French and history homework. Played chess. Then a staring competition to finish.

10:00 - Came on MN and had a bit of fun and a laugh and a joke. There are some pretty amazing people on here.

11:00 - Sent some bills to clients. Played music loud while tidying desk. Paid some bills. Attempted to book two restaurants for food during our Whitsun holiday but was told a. they don't take bookings in advance and b. the business is being sold and the new owner is not taking advance bookings yet.

12:00 - Made Tuna Nicoise for lunch. Croutons were soggy. Put food out for birds. Croutons included.

13:00 - Watched a fox watching my birds.

14:00 - Read a book.

15:00 - Pruned some roses.

16:00 - Gutted some fish for tonight then cleaned some boots.

17:00 - Fed animals, spent time with kid's problem helping them find a way through it (unsuccessfully).

18:00 - Just about to cook sole with lemon, coriander, rice and green salad. Will then light fire and watch a film around 20:00.

ps armpits a bit whiffy, fingers smell of fish so may jump in the shower.

Wordle · 02/03/2019 18:38

I’ve worked from home all day with a hangover so have just ordered a pizza and settled down to watch some tv.

Very impressed with everyone’s homemade curries. Would love some recipes if anyone is willing to share Smile

KeptTheBeachesShipwreckFree · 02/03/2019 18:54

dh been out all day, had breakfast, dinner and tea paid for and will do the same tomorrow.
I'm stuck at home with the dc with nothing to do and no money to go anywhere.
We've planted some seeds, made biscuits, watched a bit of Heston.
I've done the laundry, made 2 meals, Hoovered, swept and cleaned up.
The dc are playing and I'm watching gbbo reruns before they disappear to bed and I'll be following them.

Cheetahssitonfajitas · 02/03/2019 18:58

Ds had swimming at 8am, cried because he was too tired to swim, so we've spent the rest of the day lying on the sofa bed in a bundle of blankets with cats and tech. I've spent several hours getting far too into making a world book day costume and will now look like a highly competitive parent (I'm not but I've had so much fun making it!) Will emerge from our nest for a long walk tomorrow.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 02/03/2019 18:58

Been just me and the dog on our own today - OH working til tmrw.
Hoovered, cleaned kitchen floor and made beds, another load of washing done.
Walked the dog. Picked up dog shit from garden.
Listening to radio and waiting for my dinner to be ready.

Rock and fucking roll!

Awrite · 02/03/2019 19:00
