Can't sleep

Have been unable to get to sleep for the past 3 hours. This has never happened before. I have this shooting pain in one of my toes that I can't take my mind off of. No idea what's causing it.
Any one else who can't sleep or suddenly one night just can't get to sleep?

I get nights like that, for me it's usually hormonal changes that trigger it. Maybe get up have a hot drink and try and get a nap on the sofa? That usually works for me.

cherryblossomgin thanks for the reply, unfortunately can't really go downstairs as my family are staying over and my parents are asleep in the living room, cant get to the kitchen without waking them.
