I want to deactivate my old Facebook account and start afresh. Does anyone know if I can do this, create a new account but use the same email that the original was created under?
I don't want old contacts to be automatically suggested to join my new account. Is that possible or do I need a new email altogether?

I looked that up on fb and it says you can either deactivate (with the possibility of reactivating) or totally delete.
I'm thinking anyone with my email address in their contacts would eventually be prompted to friend me anyway.
Annoying. I wanted to keep same address but start new account. Guess I can't.

Could you change the email address on the existing account then start again?

I tried that but it didn't work. I'll just have to create an brand new email too, which is fine I suppose. I've just learned that you can easily switch in and out of several accounts so that will help.
