Help! Dullsville Q - Dryer or washer Dryer

My tumblr dryers gone wrong. 3rd repair in 2 years and I can’t be arsed to keep going round in circles with it. Plus it traps my g strings in the drum and ruins them 😂

So shopping for a new dryer I suddenly thought why don’t I get a washer dryer so I can do 2 loads of washing at once, dry one on line/radiators and one in dryer. We do a lot of washing (10 loads a week).

Anyone recommend a great washer dryer? I want the following:

Condenser or heat pump.
To be able to do drying without washing.
Freestanding
Quick wash options with high spin capacity - my current quick washing only does 800 spin. Negates the point of a quick wash when you have to re-spin at 1600 and be present to do so.
Large drum capacity

Anyone done the same? Bad idea? Good idea?

What would you recommend I buy or steer clear from

TIA!

We had a washer/dryer in a new build. Family of 5, washing every day including muddy sports kit at weekends. Absolutely rubbish and would never have a washer dryer again. Boyfriend has w/d just for him and even he says its rubbish!

I know my parachute sized knickers need a dryer but why are you putting g strings in a dryer? Surely it would be quicker to put them on a radiator or airer? Confused

Thanks Blobby!

I have heard the same but hoped they’d improved!

Ref g strings - I’m time poor... just chuck it all in unless super special :)

Nooooool, they are dreadful and bad at both of their jobs. Your dryer should last longer than two years, though. Miele are superb but expensive; Bosch are excellent and more affordable.

Mines awesome but don't think it's a condenser or heat pump. It's in curry's at the moment, Bosch. Think it was £850. Love it!

@dublinruth you are a lone voice! Tell me about yours... can you use it as just a dryer? Does it do quick wash with high spin? Thx!

@wyoudo yep you can use it as a dryer only. Quick wash function, 1400 RPM spin, and it can wash and dry a single outfit in one hour if there's something you need urgently.
