Christening presents for a 10 year old girl and 11 year old boy

We have a christening next weekend for children aged 10 (girl) and 11 (boy) and I have no idea what to buy them. I don’t know what they like. I’d like to get them something although their mum says they are not expecting anything. My husband is godparent too. Any ideas gratefully received.

A tenner each?! A bible?

Dunno really.

for the girl, perhaps something like this with her initial on?
for the boy, maybe something like this that is called the boys name's christening star? you could frame the certificate that comes and give that part as a gift.

all the best x

Why on earth would they ask your husband to be a godparent when you don't actually know the children Hmm. Surely if he is a close enough friend to be asked you would have seen them often growing up and be close to them. It sounds very odd that you don't know them well enough to know what they would like but your husband knows them well enough to be their godfather.

I would stick with the £10 or bible idea but I find it incredibly baffling that you don't know them and your husband is about to become their godparent.

Well nowt as queer as folk I suppose. They are family. We see them daily at school etc but never really socialise with them. I don’t know the reasoning for them asking my husband but he was very happy to be asked. Thanks for the gift ideas.

I got one of these as a gift for my goddaughter who was about 7 at the christening. Often the church will give a bible as a present. Two other good sites to have a browse of are 'eden' and 'cheerfully given'. I hope its a wonderful day!

Perhaps a St Christopher for each of them?
Or perhaps this for the boy and this for the girl?

I got jigsaw key rings engraved for a sibling christening, I'll see if I can find a link....

I think a St Christopher is a great idea. And then something fun for now maybe - or just a big bar of chocolate.
Depending on budget some premium bonds?
