Trying to decide on a movie for a family film night for me, dh, dd and her boyfriend (18 & 19)

We may watch two.

Considering the latest Halloween, The Meg and Bohemian Rhapsody.

I don’t like horror but would watch Halloween because the others do.

If that ends up being the pick what lighthearted, funny movies do you suggest I watch after it?

BohRha is just brilliant - but then I am a massive Queen fan so was always going to love it for the sound-track alone. But it's good! Grin .

Can't comment on other two because I don't do horror - even horror lite. Also don't really like disaster movies. So probably not much help. Have you seen We're the Millers or Identify Thief? Good comic relief there if you need it.

That would be my choice too as I’m a huge fan and can’t wait to see it but the teens are not pushed. I’d probably enjoy it better without them anyway.

Have seen the other suggestions but I do like Melissa McCarthy so might see what’s available with her in it.

Seems these two just want to see me scared or horrified more than actually being interested in Halloween!

If you like Melissa McCarthy, Can You Ever Forgive Me? is still showing, I think.

The Meg is terrible, don’t watch that!

Have you got Prime? Life in Pieces is a sitcom type thing but it’s actually very funny. Also episodes are only 20 minutes so you can get at least one in before bed!

Ds said the Meg was horrifically bad. 🤣🤣🤣

Fstar · 01/03/2019 17:47

Bohemian Rhapsody and if you love queen like us we then went hunting online for the tribute concerts after Freddy passed

The Meg is great in a "so bad it's good way". It has Jason Statham and sharks in it which is all I ask of any film Grin

The new Halloween is very good but if you're not a horror fan you probably won't like it as there's a fair amount of gore. I didn't find it scary but 90% of the films I watch are horror so I think my scare gland is desensitised!

Don’t have prime. We have Apple TV iTunes or something (dh is the tech in our house) and Netflix.

The Meg is out after this thread and dd won’t watch Bohemian Rhapsody so it looks like Halloween.
