This is the American show where the twin brothers help a family do up their current home for sale and find a new house to move to. Lets call the brothers Real Estate Brother (REB) and Handyman Brother (HB) as I don't know their names.
- Meet family, they talk about their current house and what they're looking for in a new house
- Footage of current house. Family asked how much they think their house is worth. No matter what the price REB will tell them it's worth much less in its current state. BUT with HBs help they can make some improvements and house will be worth much much more
- HB gives them a quote on these improvements. It is always $10,000 and will take 2 weeks to complete
- Badly acted scene in current house showing why family needs to move, usually involves kids jumping on kitchen benches or sofa whilst one parent is trying to work on a laptop in the same room, putting their head in their hands in frustration. Extra points for showing kitchen drawers or doors falling apart
- Show start of renovations. Couple will help smashing a wall or pull off a cupboard. Bonus points for princess wife wearing fashionable shoes as she's not a renovation type person. MASSIVE LOLZ
- Family then start house hunting segment. They always want everything, but they don't have the budget for everything. REB will show them house with everything but above budget. Family complain they don't have the money to spend. REB then takes them to places in their budget but there's always something missing for at least one of the couple.
- OH NO, THERE'S AN ISSUE WITH THE RENOVATIONS, SHOCK HORROR, I DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING. HB calls them and says he has bad news. He's discovered wiring/piping/rodents/illegal immigrants behind the walls. This is BAD NEWS. It can be fixed but their $10k budget is not enough. Badly acted cut scene then shown with husband and wife acting shocked, and they can't possibly afford any more costs. But in resignation they agree anyway.
- REB takes them shopping for home furnishings for renovated home. References to husband buying cushions and not enjoying shopping. MASSIVE LOLZ.
- Renovations finished. Final cost is always $18,000. Everyone happy, worth the extra money. REB says he thinks he can sell house for even more than what he originally told them
10. REB and family then decide which house they want to buy. You can tell the family have already decided but there needs to be a badly acted scene where they have a discussion about it. REB guy then goes to sort it. They always buy the house with everything above their budget.
11. Open house on house family are selling. Lots of shots of people saying how great everything looks.
12. REB tells family offer has not been accepted on house family want to buy. There is a counter offer $2000 higher. Family accept counter offer. Counter offers are always $2000 higher, no matter the cost of the house.
13. REB calls the family. Great news, he's sold their house for EVEN MORE than what he told them. Renovations have paid for themselves and then some. Lots of high 5s and close with a shot of the Sold sign being put up out front.
