Best easy long lasting garden furniture?? I'm liking the look of the old fashioned cast iron but is it a pain to keep? IV had wooden but didn't like the upkeep. Hate the look of the rattan. Any ideas?

I have cast aluminium. It looks similar to cast iron but doesn't weigh as much. I have a set which has lived outside all year around for eight years and looks as good as new. It doesn't require any upkeep. I just wash it down if it is looking a bit grubby.

I was eyeing up the cast aluminium, is it generally more expensive?

You can get cheap or expensive. I have a cheap set from Argos (think it was about £250 for small table and 4 chairs) and a bench from somewhere more expensive. The main difference seems to be the amount of metal used so the more expensive furniture is a bit more solid and chunky. But the cheap set is lasting well so I don't think you need to pay a lot.
