I've had this for at least ten years but I get a hard lump where I've circled on the pic and it eventually bursts and bleeds a lot then The lump is gone. Does anyone know what it is? I googled it and the only results relate to cancer. It's not that sore, it stings a bit. I've not had one in years until this week.

It sounds like a sebaceous cyst. Basically all that is is a large spot, with grease, skin cells etc. in the middle, so pretty harmless, but if it bursts, it's a good idea to clean it up gently with a weak solution of Savlon or similar.
