Dress for a wedding?

Help me please!
I’ve asked a couple of my friends and don’t know if they are just being nice, is this dress suitable for a wedding? If it makes any difference the wedding is in America and I’ll be the only Brit. It’s quite a relaxed outdoors wedding in May.
I’m nervous because it’s mainly black but thought I could do coloured shoes and accessories (if so, what colour?!)

I think it would be great with the right accessories, something light and bright, yellow maybe?

I'm a sucker for irregular choice, their yellow nick of time heels are gorgeous, and not too pricey on eBay right now.
