I’d have thought that now dd is in year 7, I’d be over WBD stress but no!

Dd wants to be Violet from a Series of Unfortunate Events (tv series not the film apparently.

She’s found one of her outfits being a pink dress with blue cardigan over it. Had a quick look on EBay and nothing jumps out as remotely similar.

She’s ASD and won’t be talked into anything else and of course it’s got to be perfect or it’s all my fault! Any ideas please?

Is the cardigan more aqua than blue? I tried aqua crochet cardigan on eBay and came up with this at £5.98

For the dress what about a pink shirt and sharpie the pattern on

twosoups1972 · 27/02/2019 19:45

It got to be long sleeved!

The long black witch type dress with cross ribbon and puff sleeves might be easier to source? Fishnet tights for sleeves? Would she consider that violet outfit?

OKBobble · 27/02/2019 19:54

TV series - not the film - but is it a book? After all its World Book Day so what description is given for the character in rhe book?

Redpine · 27/02/2019 19:56

Punk’s find looks promising!

hazeyjane · 27/02/2019 19:58

How about a cardigan like this? It's cotton, so you could dye it?

The shirt looks like a pink polo shirt? Or is it a blouse?

You can buy pink polos on eBay or Amazon (you could sharpie pattern on).

If it's a shirt I may have a white one with a little pattern on, which is too small for dd1 - you could dye it pink?

hazeyjane · 27/02/2019 20:00

Ooh hang on, we may have a cardy too...in a blue green cable knit. If you pm me her size? I could see if it would fit.

Redpine · 27/02/2019 20:02

I think I went film with black dress suggestion, forget that. DD went as Matilda one year. Wore her usual uniform but carried 3 books around all day. Grin

The have a couple of pink dresses in H&M, but only go up to age 10. May be ok with leggings if she’s small?

Alternatively there’s this iat boohoo.com.

TheHallouminati · 27/02/2019 20:20

For the dress, would this suit?

m.shein.co.uk/Girls-Ruffle-Cuff-Half-Placket-Dress-p-615655-cat-2005.html

Or maybe this
m.shein.co.uk/Girls-Button-Up-Belted-Striped-Dress-p-590901-cat-2005.html

Not identical but I think they are similar

twosoups1972 · 27/02/2019 20:25
