Posted a few days ago in agony with my wisdom teeth - the pain has been on and off for a week now, sometimes unbearable. I’ve bitten the bullet and booked in to see a dentist (terrified of dentists).
I know they’re impacted and will need to be removed under a GA (discussed it with a dentist previously), which is fine as I would not handle being awake for something like that - but how long does it take to get a referral for this?
I’m guessing there’s nothing the dentist can do in the meantime to help (don’t think there’s an infection) - I’m already on morphine for another condition and using OTC local anaesthetic gel, unless there’s a stronger local anaesthetic I can ask for? If you’ve been in this situation was your dentist able to help the pain at all while you were waiting for removal? I’m hoping it will ease off but they seem to be trying to push through more every day (they’re already well through the gum, it’s that they’re putting pressure on the rest of the teeth and feel like my jaw is breaking).
