What would you buy?

New luxury bedding

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 26/02/2019 16:38

No idea, but I’d spend it asap. I get the impression that they won’t last much longer sadly. I might stock up on slightly nicer than usual makeup or perfume, I don’t rate a lot of the clothes lines they carry.

Frogsdinner · 26/02/2019 16:39

Perfume, perfume and more perfume

Worriedallthebloodytime · 26/02/2019 16:40

Lots of baby things :-) expecting my first and very excited! 🤦🏻‍♀️🙈

bellsbuss · 26/02/2019 16:40

Bedding definitely

StealthPolarBear · 26/02/2019 16:40

Id spend it very very quickly

nameychange · 26/02/2019 16:41

Thanks.

Was obviously thinking clothes but like the idea of bedding and perfume

Why do you think they might go under?

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 26/02/2019 16:45

Because all the big dept stores of that nature seem to have been in trouble and our debenhams is already an eighties throwback.
I love it as the nostalgia is huge, I spent my teenage years in there. But its card is marked I thibk

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 26/02/2019 16:49

They’ve just done a swanky rebrand of our nearest one, the outside now looks very nice. But inside it’s the same tat. Overpriced for what is a lot of the time bad quality, and terrible stock control. Dh likes a particular style of trousers they do there but for the last couple of months every time he’s nipped in there’s absolutely no trousers, AT ALL, in his (not unusual) size. It never really feels clean either. I can’t explain really. The John Lewis in the same town feels like a real treat to look around. Debenhams is just a bit drab

nameychange · 26/02/2019 16:57

Thanks.

Spend it quickly - i have a feeling their cards are marked and with the weather turning so much people wont be buying winter stuff so they will be left with lots of stock that just wont sell properly so it may be the final straw sadly

BarbaraofSevillle · 26/02/2019 17:07

I'd sell it and spend the money elsewhere. I'd rather lose part of the value than trawl round there trying to find something I wanted, when even £200 would go further in shops I do like or sell things that I need.

BlythesEyes · 26/02/2019 17:07

Buy a gift card for another retailer

Ktay · 26/02/2019 17:10

They do electricals online too; is there anything boring like a new washing machine or hoover that you need and then you could spend the £250 elsewhere? (Warranty might be a bit iffy though if they go under 😬)

Jaxhog · 26/02/2019 17:14

Really, really nice sheets. We bought some top-end ones from their sale last year. I smile every night now!

tierraJ · 26/02/2019 17:14

Posh perfume & makeup!

StealthPolarBear · 05/03/2019 11:55

They're in the news today op, get it spent if you haven't already

SileneOliveira · 05/03/2019 11:56

Spend it quickly. They are in financial dire straits.

StealthPolarBear · 05/03/2019 11:57

Did you reply because I bumped this or did we both have the same idea :)

thenightsky · 05/03/2019 11:58

New pans and baking trays.

Maybe towels and bedding.
