What to do in Buckinghamshire?

A friend married last year and moved to Chesham. She wants me to visit her this year, and I'm planning on doing so but I was thinking of spending 5 or 6 days there and perhaps visiting a few places as I don't want to to take up all of her time, but what would you recommend I do/see while in the county? It'll just be me, no children. I love museums, nice cafes, stately homes and independent shops.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Two good NT stately homes, Waddesdon Manor and Cliveden nearby.

Old Amersham, less than ten mins drive, very pretty town with cafes galore, a pretty garden and some ‘naice’ shops. It also has a tiny museum.

Berkhampstead is a ‘naice’ town. With a canal to stroll along. Lots of nice places to lunch/brunch/coffee. It’s got a lovely vintage cinema, The Rex, where you can watch films with wine and sit at tables, on sofas etc.

Woburn Abbey
Bletchley Park
Clayton House
Chenies Manor
Ashridge Estate
Bekonscot Model Village at Beaconsfield. The town itself has a nice collection of shops and eateries.
Chiltern Open Air Museum - there’s a nice tea room too!
Burnham Beeches and Stoke Common
Orchard View Farm is a rare breeds farm with restaurant, cafe, farm shop and butchery.
