Trying to get my shit together

As part of my aim to sort myself out with anxiety I am trying to sort my life out.

So... have paid off small overdrafts and closed the accounts.

Trying to realign direct debit dates so they leave almost immediately after pay day.

What else could I look at sorting?

What else are you anxious about?

I have started using a couole of money saving/budgeting apps
Cleo is great to stop you spending. Moneybox rounds up transactions to the nearest £1 and saves it. Chip reads your algorithms and works out what you can save that week without noticing

@luckiestgirl Where do I start....! I suppose just trying to organise as much in my life as I can to help...

I currently use Monzo and have a coinpot set up which rounds to the nearest £ and puts it away. They have also introduced a feature which locks that coin jar until X date that you set. I've done this so I can save up for Christmas.

Im also puzzled... my salary and whats left doesnt make sense.

i had 1042

  • 33 car insurance
  • 14 mobile phone
  • 60 petrol
  • 6 netflix
  • 185 spends
leaves me 689. This goes into joint account.

I move 185 spends and 60 petrol to another account.

I need to leave 33 car insurance, 14 phone and 6 netflix (total 53) in original account. But I have 74 in there?

I don't leave money in the joint account, it's purely for receiving money. I have six other accounts: bills, saving, personal spending, emergencies, fun savings and groceries. Each week I divide our pays into the accounts and mortgage according to our budget. I know there will always be money in the bills account when direct debits fall due, I know exactly how much money we have left for food and groceries for the week, we have an emergency fund for the unexpected and personal spending that we can do with what we like without feeling guilty. I've never felt less stressed about money.

Now to sort out meal planning which I've been attempting for about 3 years...
