The guy was a rare talent, The Colour Of Spring, Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock are the kinds of records that can only really be described as transcendentally brilliant, and it's a shame that the genius behind them has passed away

Makes me feel old.

PlumCakeChica · 25/02/2019 21:36

So sad. Such a distinctive voice and his music was the background to my formative years

Azzizam · 25/02/2019 21:36

My absolute favorite singer songwriter. Gutted to hear this. His haunting voice and melodies have helped me deal with so much emotion over the years. RIP Mark.

I've been a fan since my early teens in the 1980s. Very sad to hear this news, he was a proper talent Sad

We are not old, we are now hipster vintage!

He was a legend that influenced the UK house scene, his synthpop stuff has influenced many groundbreaking musicians worldwide

I didn't recognise his name so googled it - I loved Talk Talk back in the day, very sad news Sad

KelpianCasserole · 26/02/2019 07:56

Is this definately true? He wasn't old!

Janecon · 26/02/2019 08:03

Very sad news - an amazing talent and they were one of my favourite bands as a teenager

LuxuryWoman2018 · 26/02/2019 08:07

Very sad to hear this, strangely I’ve been listening to TalkTalk a lot this week revisiting my teenage years and thoroughly enjoyed the nostalgia,

OddBodsAndGladRags · 26/02/2019 08:10

He was influential to me extending listening to music that wasn't Duran /Bananrama etc. Brought a little sophistication into my early teens.

I still sing to his albums alot.

So fucking young.

PabloTescobar · 26/02/2019 08:16

Oh no, that's sad. No age at all. :(
