Just spent a fab week in London. On saturday lunchtime there were a group of vegans activists smack bang in the middle of Leicester Square with various different large flat screen tvs, laptops, tablets etc that they were holding up playing the Earthlings and Land of Hope and Glory documentaries (extremely graphic depictions of slaughter etc).
Children saw and started screaming and crying... Parents didn't have the chance to pull them away before they realised and everything else going on in Leicester Square was family friendly, giant Pikachu etc.
Interested in hearing peoples thoughts on this. I personally felt it completely unnecessary - I have nothing against vegans but do not feel in any way shape or form that a three year old needs to watch a cow get its throat slit whilst blood spurts everywhere.
My vegan friend thinks it's a shame that the children were upset but people need to be educated and if they knew what went on would instantly become vegab. That to me makes it sound like people aren't aware that the animals have to die for food. I personally have see both these documentaries and whilst very unpleasant to watch... I'm still not a vegan.
Like I say, interested in hearing people's opinions!
