Mirena Coil removal

Hi guys,

I had the Mirena coil removed 3 days ago 22/02 and it was really painful. But afterwards I had little cramping and just a bit of bleeding. Now I’ve woken up this morning and the cramps are getting worse. Laying on my back with my knees up is the only thing that seems to be soothing it, however only a short term solution. If I turn on to my side, the cramps start up almost immediately.

Has anyone else experienced these symptoms? I had unprotected sex the day before coil removal but if I was pregnant I don’t think that would be showing any symptoms after 4 days would it?

I've had 2 mirena coils and the first I had removed I had terrible bleeding and cramps. Second one I had virtually nothing at all. I think it just depends where you were in your cycle. It is entirely possible you could be pg. When I had my first coil out we conceived DS2 within a couple of days! xx

Sounds like they can be different each time. I had a difficult time on insertion so maybe that's why. We were hoping to start TTC in a few months but now wouldn't be bad either! I just start a new job on Monday so not sure of entitlements but we'd work it out
