Trying to get in touch with a old work colleague. Would their phone still once if it was because the battery had died or it was off? Or have I been blocked?

No, it wouldn't.

If a phone is off or has no power, then it doesn’t ring.

My DH’s phone does one ring then goes to voicemail when it’s switched onto silent or do not disturb.

If a phone is on and powered up but on do not disturb or anything like that it'll ring once and then pop to voicemail. (At least that's what mine does)

If a phone's battery is dead and there is no power in it, it won't ring no. It'll go straight to voicemail.

Depends on your network. Some do one very brief ‘ring’ (ie only to the caller) before voicemail kicks in.

My husband's sounds to the caller like it rings once before voicemail picks up. It doesn't make a sound at his end obviously

Wouldyoulie · 25/02/2019 10:59

Thanks for all responses sounds like it just depends on the individual phone.

Mine does a ‘blip’ - it’s not a full ring. The straight to VM.
