Gut instinct - is it a thing?

How much stock do you place in your 'gut instinct?' Is it a thing? I've got a gut instinct to not trust someone in my life but struggling to figure if it's just because of past bad experiences or whether it's really a thing?! No idea whether to trust mine or not. Have your gut instincts served you well or not??

One mumsnetter once commented:
"Trust your gut instinct, embrace your prejudices"

So I take notice but I try to balance things out.

Trust it. I've never been wrong yet.

You're probably picking up miniscule signals that they are giving off, but you're only noticing subliminally.

Yes, I think so. Whenever I have ignored mine it's lead to harm for me in some way.
So listen to it.

PerspicaciaTick · 24/02/2019 22:50

Mine is unerringly wrong.

I take my gut instinct to be telling me something subconsciously which I haven’t yet fully understood.

The only problem is that it can be off due to prejudices but if you have an open sceptical mind (not cynical) you can figure things out.

When it comes to my dcs I trust my gut.
