What does your 4 year old love?

Dd is 4 soon. When I ask her what she wants for her birthday she says “I want all of it” or nothing!

She is 2nd child so we have drawing, craft stuff, Lego, playdoh, puzzles, books (although she will probably get a couple more), a scooter, dolls, animals, cars etc!

I don’t want to buy for the sake of buying but would like some stuff for her to open. What does your 4 year old love to play with? Would love suggestions of stuff I haven’t thought of!

My 4yo DD loves her Paw patrol figures and plays with them for hours. Her wooden dolls' house. LOL girls surprise toys. Simple board games. Micro scooter with light up wheels.

Hatchimals

I had the same problem a few months ago with a DD2 turning 4 and we already have everything from DD1. DD2 loves paw patrol and pj masks, which DD1 never really watched, so she got some toys from those . Also, my parents introduced her to sylvanian families, which we hadn't bought for DD1.
In general, DD2 loves to play sylvanian family (after Christmas and her birthday we have a house, a one room cottage, a supermarket and a car), playmobil fairy garden, paw patrol, a scruff-a-luv (which surprised me as she hadn't really cared about any cuddly toys before but she loves that rabbit), any arts and crafts stuff, board games (orchard games are good). She also likes LOL surprise dolls and shopkins because she is influenced by her older sister, but I don't recommend them.

My almost 4 year old adores Schleich animals and dinosaurs just now. Really goes for it with small world play.

Pirate ship
Blocks
Train track
My little ponies
Thomas
Marshall toys

My youngest DS is four in a couple of months. He loves PJ masks, playmobil, play doh, lego and cars. He's also likes things like squeezamals and smooshy mooshy. For this birthday he's getting a bike.

I've always found it quite hard buying for him cos our eldest is only 2 years older, so we have lots of stuff already. Mainly now I just get him stuff to add to what both boys have already. So more playmobil Hmm more lego Hmm.

My 4yo loves her Sylvanian Families and dolls. The playdoh and Ikea train set is also popular, and she loves the hand puppets and dress up stuff.
She has spent the last 4 months saving up her pocket money for a Hatchimal and finally got it last week as Argos has/had them half price. I'm so grateful I saw the offer as it's been heartbreaking trying to explain how much longer it'll take to save when she has been unwaveringly saving for so long already (for a 4yo!). She has been so desperate for it, and so far it hasn't disappointed her. (We hadn't realised when we bought the Xmas presents back in October she wanted one so much by the way. I feel mean for not getting one now!)

My niece is soon to be 5, but in the last year she has loved the first Incredibles film (she has all the characters), Disney princesses such as Moana & Pochohontas, and LOVES batman and Barbie (who apparently live together!!) ! So quite a mixture Smile

WhoAreThey · 25/02/2019 08:08

Thanks for all the suggestions. Will get googling!

Babies, role play, craft, ghostbusters, princesses, dinosaurs!

My dd has just turned five and is massively into slime, shimmer and shine and my little pony.

Got her the shimmer and shine unicorn for her birthday and she adores it

DD2 is 4 in April and has specifically asked for Spider-Man PJs, a new shower cap and a "special ballet shoe sweatshirt" to wear to and from class.

Extended family are clubbing together for a big outdoor slide.

We've also bought a children's kitchen set with child sized knives and cut-resistant gloves so she can do more cooking with us.

BingLiveisRubbish · 25/02/2019 09:12

Sylvanian Families (especially the new 'Town' range) and Ryan's World Toys! Confused

PinkBuffalo · 25/02/2019 20:57

thenightis'omg I completely forgot shimmer and shine! How on earth did I do that when that's all I've been buying the last couple of months!
She's even trying to teach us all the song Grin
I haven't yet watched an episode much to her disappointment...

SoyDora · 25/02/2019 21:02

I have 2 DD’s 19 months apart (5 and 3 now), but they have very different interests so it’s fairly easy finding new things to buy for DD2.
She loves sylvanian families, lol dolls, mini playsets from the Disney store, trolls, hatchimals, play doh and slime.
DD1 likes books, crafts, Lego and anything music related.
