I feel selfish to want to remember my DD

My Dd died when she was 9 days old.
She was very sick & I have no illusions that she would have made it.
She would have been 21 today.
They are forgotten. I see her & miss her

I am very sorry, OP. You are not selfish to remember your baby and to love her. Birthday wishes for Poppy.

Birthday wishes also for Bamchic's Joey.

Lollypop701 · 24/02/2019 20:02

your child was loved and is missed, there’s no timescale. I’m sorry for your loss op x

Lemonsquinky · 24/02/2019 20:02

You aren't selfish. She will always be your dd. I think it's important to remember her. Be kind to yourself. 💐

ChelseaLoseAgain · 24/02/2019 20:03

I thought having babies would be so easy (naively).
My DH & I married very young & then 10 years later we said ‘shall we have children?’
I didn’t realise I was pregnant until I was 4 months gone.
I developed HELLP syndrome & nearly died myself.
I would have hated all the pink & glitter 😂

Happy 21st birthday Poppy. We acknowledge Ds birthday every year with cake. He will never be forgotten and as long as you live your dd won't either. Hope you get to do something special this week for yourself and Dh to mark this special birthday xx

Curlyshabtree · 24/02/2019 20:21

You never forget, to remember her is human, not selfish. I lost my DS aged 6 days, his 12th Birthday is coming up. I know exactly how you feel. Stay strong and remember Poppy Flowers

Happy birthday Poppy and Joey. They're alive to us here, and now, if that helps. Raising a glass to you both, @ChelseaLoseAgain and @Bamchic.

Its a beautiful name, i may be biased as my daughter is also a poppy x

GetOffTheTableMabel · 24/02/2019 20:33

It’s not selfish. You’re her mum.
She was here. She was real and she was loved. And that will always be true.

ChelseaLoseAgain · 24/02/2019 20:33

Thank you all. 💐 to all who have experienced any loss .
It’s hard, really hard. Last night my poor DP had to endure my crying & wailing.
Bless him we went out for lunch today with his DS (14) & explained today’s significance to him. We all cheers & said happy Birthday.
I just miss her x

I’m so sorry for the loss of your daughter.

Of course you’ll remember all the things you’ll miss out on with her. It must be so difficult, I can’t even imagine.
