Hi all! I’m new to Mumsnet and in need of help! My 9yr daughter is very large for her and tall (adult size 10/12 size 5 feet!!) I’m struggling since BHS shut to find summer school dresses for her and was wondering if any of you lovely people would recommend any. M&S ‘plus fit’ range and TU have been tried and are no good xxxx

I’d get A-line ones.

Next used to do them up to age 14, not sure if they still do, or buy gingham fabric and make them/get them Made to fit?

PetuniaPetunia · 24/02/2019 19:42

I thinkASDA do them.

Hi OP if you can find a stockist near you there’s a brand called Zeco school wear whose dresses are very generous and go up to a size 38" chest if I remember correctly.

BHStowel · 24/02/2019 21:23

What colour do you need?

dizzyburd · 24/02/2019 22:20

Ooooo thank you I’ll check zeco out. It’s blue or navy check xxxx

I expect there will be a lot more in the shops come spring. The standard John Lewis dresses are very generously cut and flattering, and go up to age 16. They are pure cotton though so tend to need ironing.

There's also a website called something like sturdy kids that specialises in this but I haven't bought from them.

Highly recommended Sturdy Kids, a lot of my daughter's school uniform is from there. I miss BHS, but I'll have a look to see if we have any gingham dresses in the uniform box here, chance are that my youngest will never fit them as she's the opposite to her sister!

I had the same problem with DD1.
Definitely recommend Sturdy Kids.
