We live next to an alleyway and some arsehole has unscrewed and taken off the pipe that connects the waste pipe from the downstairs loo sink to the main waste pipe.

Does anyone know what the bent connector is called? We need to buy a new pipe too.
I’ll add a picture to make it easier!

You're not far off the name - the elbow is called a waste bend and you need a waste pipe.

If you go to a proper plumbing supplies shop with your picture, it's exactly what they need to be able to help you.

If you take a photo on your phone, that would also work fine, by the way - they're used to that sort of question.

I'm not sure what they're called but I'm sure you'll be able to get one from b&q or somewhere similar.

Measure the circumference of your pipe in case they come in different sizes!

Thank you so much!

Will definitely measure up first!

Oh, and if you're having to endure dickheads like that, it's worth asking if it's a good idea to use PTFE tape on the joins, as it makes it slightly more difficult to unscrew (or whether they recommend anything else).

I was half wanting to use superglue on the joints! Will definitely ask about the PTFE tapes though, as Im sure something like this will happen again. Thanks for the brilliant advice MitziK
