Would you want a refund for this takeaway?

Ordered a curry.

A 'large' one for £7 (the sauce) came in the same container every other take away has for a normal sized curry so no idea where large came from.

Ordered it medium spiced. Always have medium from other curry houses. It was apocalypse style hot. DH and my eyes were burning and we had to get a 2ltr of water out of the fridge. Could not enjoy it at all.

Ordered 4 poppadoms (2 sets) and only 1 turned up. So missing items.

The onion bahjis were burnt, dry and just tasted of salt. Completely inedible, they were that salty.

We ate about a quarter and it went in the bin.

I wanted to call and ask them to collect DH said no.
I contacted just eat and the takeaway refuted the claims and refused a refund.

£16 in the bin

Yes, I'd want a refund. At the very least I'd give a very bad review 😡

bigandbumpy · 24/02/2019 12:21

£16 for a curry to feed two people says it all really. Whenever I've ordered takeout it's come to at least £25 - £30!
Leave a bad review then move on.

I'd contact justeat again and say you're not satisfied, ask them to take it up with the restaurant again. Say that you're going to leave appalling reviews everywhere if they don't respond more appropriately.

If that doesn't yield anything, talk to the restaurant manager directly. List all the issues with the food (next time take photographs)

We got a £65 takeaway order refunded in full a few weeks ago. Missing items, disgusting food, inadequate portions. Appalling.

Big and bumpy we share a single curry and we share a rice. We don't have a full meal each. We share a naan bread. Only thing we have individually is a portion of poppadoms and they forgot one set. We don't have starters.

I'm on disability benefits and a takeaway is a real treat, hence sharing.

I quite often share a curry or get 2 veg side dishes at about £4 each.
It's normal if you're not well off surely?

I heard that with Just Eat etc it's good to check the place has an actual physical restaurant as its then more likely to be decent. Not sure if that might help in future.

I'd have taken loads of photos of it and filmed it and asked them to collect it back. I'd leave a bad review if I were you.

£16 sounds about right where I am :S

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 24/02/2019 12:55

Did you call JustEat in time that the restaurant could collect if they wanted?

JustEat won't collect for them but will usually refund and then argue with the restaurant themselves if you contacted them close to when the curry arrived and it was available for collection. I suspect it stops people from ordering, eating and then claiming it was inedible.

It sounds awful. Definitely leave them a poor review to warn others.

HotChocolateLover · 24/02/2019 14:19

I would have definitely insisted on a refund and left an appallingly review if no refund was forthcoming. Agree with everything that’s been said 😂

flumpybear · 24/02/2019 14:43

Leave a bad review with pictures if you can and explain they weren't open to refund

FleeceDetective · 24/02/2019 14:47

Have you ordered from that takeaway before? What were the reviews like?

catinboots99 · 24/02/2019 14:59

Leave a bad review
