UCLH or Whittington Hospital

Hi. My daughter and son in law are newly pregnant and living in Islington, N7. We would be grateful for opinions/experiences in order to decide between care at The Whittington Hospital and UCLH.
I’m a midwife myself but not from the London area, so although I’m sure I’ll be of some use during this exciting time, I’ve no first hand knowledge of the hospitals. TIA

Sue

I second this question. I'm 20 weeks and 5 days. I'm currently at UCLH, which I've found to be great so far, but I mentioned to them that I think I want an elective C-section and they said they'd ship me off to Whittington at 34-36 weeks. I feel it's a punishment for picking an option they don't really want me to pick even though there's "no judgement". I'm not sure about Whittington, I deliberately chose UCLH and the only reviews I can find of Whittington are from 2010 and not very positive.

Well a section at the UCH is nothing special. Post natal ward is manic. What's the issue with having it a Whittington? UCH aren't keen on electives as they have so many high risk cases etc so already are massively overstretched. Don't see it as punishment rather as a consequence.

Perceptions of the two hospitals really. My experience with UCH is that they took excellent care of my husband when he needed the emergency services a few years ago. My friend had a ceasrean there, but she got in because Whittington had misdiagnosed her in the past and she said she couldn't trust them.
