Is it me or is it a bit... mean on MN today?

I've noticed a few threads today with really bitchy comments.

Someone being awful about someone else's meal choice. Someone else getting catty because someone offered them helpful unsolicited advice about shoes.

Is it just me that's noticed?

It has been a non stop bitch fest today.

I get what you mean OP, I've noticed it too today. There's been some nasty posts in parts of the site that are usually reasonably civil.

Not mean but either seriously lacking in comprehension or can't be arsed to RTFT . I was going to make my own thread but I'll hijack yours because I'm mean.

It goes like this.

OP: AIBU my friend said she won't come over because she doesn't like the look of my dog. She said it creeps her out .

PP's pilling in about how dangerous dogs are and how OP is that kind of owner and she should just lock dog away.

OP makes an apology and says she forgot to mention the dog is a stuffed toy.

More PP's pile in with the exact same replies plus the added "why did you post if you won't listen"(oh the irony).

OP explains again and says she doesn't see the issue.

PP's repeat ,only some actually figuring out what's going on . Despite them repeating it's a toy,same replies pile on,but now those PP's are shouted at too. Newspaper articles and heartbreaking experiences get added on to emphasise why OP is wrong,why dogs are dangerous and why the friend is completely reasonable to refuse to come..

My eyebrows have been a bit raised at some of the threads posted today but not noticed anything any meaner in the responses.

I honestly think it's getting worse here by the day. There are some people posting here that must have 'professional bitch' on their CV.

Fuck me that was cathartic. I think I actually growled at my phone yesterday reading a thread were not only were posters being dicks,but banged on and on and on despite OP admitting she was U by post 100 and that she was not going to do the thing.

Then someone accused me of trying to censor them and I'm better off making my own forum if I don't like others posting. I don't give a shit if you post love but RTFT! Grrrr
