Literally ON the back of my ear, red slightly raised lump that is tender when you press it.

Cyst?! The back of that ear has been sore for a while but I just dismissed it as a spot coming. But this is definitely under the skin.

Fucking freaky, I discovered one of these day before yesterday too, for the first time.

saxatablesalt · 23/02/2019 22:39

It isn't a spot. Feels nothing like one.

Been there too long to be a spot anyway, I've had it a good month.

I wasn't ill either. Just your body fighting infection even though you don't feel particularly ill. Mine was swollen for a few weeks and then disappeared.

How odd! Tbf I don't know how long it's been there, only that I've been aware of this sore spot for about a month but kept forgetting to actually look at it til today.

I remember having a swollen lymph node on my chest once, that was a weird one. Scared the bejesus out of me but then it went.

I've had these before too, it will go eventually.

JaneJeffer · 23/02/2019 22:49

I often get these. They just shrink away eventually when they decide you have been punished enough.

CantStopMeNow · 23/02/2019 22:50

i've been having them for years.
Sometimes they pop under the skin, if i scratch the crease i get that white gunk under my nails.

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 24/02/2019 07:24

Yes it'll go by itself or develop a head and burst, bit yucky but will feel better after.

Silvercatowner · 24/02/2019 08:06

I'm not sure that "spot" has a medical definition. For me, "spot" = weird thing on my skin - your thing fulfils that definition.

Zebrasinpyjamas · 24/02/2019 08:10

I get this periodically in the same place but they go away by themselves. A red lump under the skin that hurts to press, sometimes it feels hot. I've never needed to treat it this and it's never come to a head or popped.
