It's newborns for me. The newer, the better.

When they all sleepy and snuggly regardless of age

Notmorewashing · 23/02/2019 19:24

Asleep !!!!!

Childsafescissorsarerubbish · 23/02/2019 19:34

Anything from six months is lovely. Well, I don't know any teenagers but my friend's nine year-old is still adorable (thinks he knows it all but still so young really!). I've never really understood the newborn thing, especially the "squishy" bit. Can you actually squish them, like stress balls? Never occurred to me to try and now I feel like I missed out!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 23/02/2019 19:37

Any age under 6 for me. I particularly love them at 18 months to 3.

keepforgettingmyusername · 23/02/2019 19:39

Toddlers are so unbelievably cute. When they put their little hand in yours, chase the ducks and shout QUACK, try to put their tiny little shoes on and do it all wrong, god I just love that age so much.

Mmmhmmokdear · 23/02/2019 19:41

When they're asleep Grin

DonnaDarko · 23/02/2019 19:51

Definitely around 2 :D and when sleeping lol

NameChange30 · 23/02/2019 20:33

"Can you actually squish them, like stress balls?"
This made me laugh out loud Grin

I suppose they're squishy because they're so delicate, you're aware that you could squish them but can't!

SinisterBumFacedCat · 23/02/2019 21:07

I know those folds of fat are so squishy but we probably shouldn’t use them as stress balls!

SuePerb · 23/02/2019 21:10

2-3 I think, but they can also be so incredibly frustrating and tiring. They have to be cute to make it bearable.

All ages are appealing though - I have teens now and find them so engaging and interesting (and frustrating and tiring...)

Bumbalaya · 23/02/2019 21:22

2, I think.

Thank goodness for this too because to the same extent they are VERY annoying!

HedgePlastic · 23/02/2019 21:28

2-3 years old

LordPickle · 23/02/2019 21:32

My 2 yr old DS is amazing. He calls butterflies "buttaplies" and says all sorts of other adorable things.

Today when I collected him from my IL he ran up to me and when I picked him up, he put his hands on my cheeks and kissed me on the mouth and said "luff you mommy". Sooooo sweet!

EssentialHummus · 23/02/2019 21:33

I have a 17 month old and I feel like this must be peak cute - she picks her stuffed bunny up and hugs it with loud "mwah" noises, cuddles me and DH (and one of her unwilling friends) all the time, picks up new words most days, gets visibly delighted by the new things she can do... it's amazing. The other day I had two other mums with toddlers round and found these three little minion-like creatures toddling around together outside my closed bathroom door trying to figure out how to open it Grin. I remember when they came home from the hospital!

My 5yo very cute. 8yo can still be lovely.

bourbonbiccy · 23/02/2019 21:42

I have thought every stage is just the cutest and thought he possibly get any cuter .....then he does and I can't see that changing any time soon, my son just keeps getting cuter and cuter and cuter.
I have just loved every stage and hope it continues,

gamerwidow · 23/02/2019 21:43

Age 3-7 probably the cutest. Although my DD 8 is still adorable.
Can’t stand babies and toddlers, dribbly, incontinent, whingy borefests.

HairyToity · 23/02/2019 21:44

18 months to 3 years old IMO.

Redcrayonisthebest · 23/02/2019 21:45

3-6 months old when they're starting to smile and giggle at you.

FrozenMargarita17 · 23/02/2019 21:45

18 months for me, my dd is starting to say things and it's honestly so sweet

lottielady · 23/02/2019 21:54

I’m visiting my 20 year old student son at the moment. Curls down to his shoulders, tall and rangy, a David Bowie t-shirt, newly vegan and full of earnest Socialism.

I wanted to pinch his little cheeks Grin

MrsDeanWinchester75 · 23/02/2019 21:59

I don't think I've ever found a baby cute, not even my own, I think human babies are the least cute of any species!

They come into their own from 2-3 though, is almost 4 and I don't think I've laughed so much as I have for the past two years, .

blueskiesovertheforest · 23/02/2019 21:59

Not newborns at all. They're just vulnerable and not really fully baked - the only interesting newborn is your own, they really should still be gestating and shouldn't be being passed about or gawped at IMO...

After that it bepends on the baby, but once they're sitting up, smiling, laughing, waving they are vastly cuter.

Small toddlers are the absolute cutest - a sturdy happy bald toddling 10 month old, through to about 22 months.

They can still be cute right though until teens though, when in the mood, in a certain light ... Grin

Sipperskipper · 23/02/2019 22:02

DD is 21 months and seems to be getting cuter, funnier and more magical by the day! From my (limited) experience with her, I’d say I’ve enjoyed from about 16 months the most so far. She started walking confidently at about 16.5 months, which has made her even more cute and fun - watching her explore everything is just wonderful.
