If it is brake fluid, no! Do not drive the car, it'll have to be picked up.

But brake fluid is an oil, from very light to dark brown, and not watery. Wet your fingers or a tissue with it and give it a sniff - if it smells sweet it's coolant, if it has any green or blue tinge it's probably coolant.

But if there's any doubt at all, DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR. Your brakes will almost certainly not work, and you may die.

Power steering fluid ?

Most cars have a warning light for low brake fluid ...

If in doubt: don't drive - that's what the AA/RAC/

It's strange... definitely thin water but definitely touch of greessy slippery stuff...seems pretty clear...

Brake fluid is more the consistency of cooking oil, not watery.

SoupDragon · 23/02/2019 17:41

Identify where the reservoir for the brake fluid is under the bonnet and see how much it has in it.

DrDreReturns · 23/02/2019 17:44

Agree with soup dragon, check the brake fluid level. See if it has gone down compared to last time. My brake fluid level is always the same so a leak should be easy to detect. If in doubt don't drive it and get someone to come and look at it.

If you've touched it, FGS make sure you wash your hands thoroughly. If it is brake fluid, it's spectacularly nasty.
