I have told my DH thousands of times to stop cracking his knuckles and I'm sure he's doing it to annoy me! AngryGrin Does anyone else have a partner with an annoying habit to make me feel better about mine?

I crack my knuckles. Sorry, it's an impossibly strong compulsion, he can't stop it!

I have hyper mobility, it's a relief to crack knuckles, ankles, neck. People get annoyed. I can't help it Grin

DS does it. It is a sound like fingernails running down a blackboard. I hate, hate, hate it!!

DH must be always hungry as whenever i look over at him he is biting his fingernails! its like his hand needs to be surgically removed from his mouthEnvyGrin
I know exactly how you feel Cake

Cracking joints relieves pain. Not cracking joints when they need to be causes pain.

Could knowing that the other person is in pain that can be relieved with just a small movement make it easier to tolerate?

Well I crack my knuckles and I'm not in any pain, it's just a bad habit! (For me)

crimsonlake · 23/02/2019 12:57

I feel your pain, my ex used to do this, in fact he used to crack more or less everything and it used to drive me insane, the sound is disgusting, especially when he would do his neck! Worse still my youngest son started doing it as a result of seeing his father I am sure, thankfully he seems to have grown out of it.

Sometimes you just can't control your habits Shock

Quintella · 23/02/2019 12:59

The sound of knuckles cracking makes me want to vomit. I once asked a colleague (nicely) to stop doing it. He wasn't relieving pain it was just something he did when he was deep in thought.
