Anyone else with this weird virus that won't go away?

Is this a vile nasty virus? And if you had it - how did you make it go away?

12 days ago felt shivery/sore throat/feeling sick.
Since then constant nausea, not eaten a proper meal. And diahrrea especially in the morning and/or after eating.
Last weekend took Imodium and it lessened for a few days. Now back a revengence.

I am so bored with not socialising or going out for a run (my bottom couldn't be trusted).

My husband and I had this in early January. Sick for weeks. Several times it appeared to be clearing up, but then it was back with a vengeance the next day. We felt like the walking dead and thought we would never get over it. I hope you're better soon!

Babydust2019 · 23/02/2019 15:33

Oh my days!!! Since Christmas!!!! Oh I've got a few months to go at that reckoning.

Today I am on Lucozade (desperate) and on the sofa watching all the episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond.

DP has bought me mini eggs and I am eyeing them up like it's tripe with liver.
Today's aim is to eat toast.

But on the upside lost 7lbs.

Yes 4 weeks now, getting bored of it now.

cannotmakemymindup · 23/02/2019 15:51

Yes!! What the hell is it?? So annoying.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 23/02/2019 15:56

Yep; but with less pooping.

I had it end Nov - start Jan
DH got it start Jan - start Feb

DD now seems to have it too, she’s been out of sorts for two to three weeks now but it’s so low level it’s manageable but it’s been a lottery how she will be day to day.

So yeah, my sympathies. As I’m pregnant all
I could do was drink water and rest it out. No running for me either.

Rest and rest and rest x

SpoonBlender · 23/02/2019 17:48

Mine's been coming and going since 6th January. I've had about six good days since then, the rest variably iffy to awful. Just coldy stuff though - usual snotty/swollen glands, brain in cotton wool, only 30% energy so even going up stairs is a chore (I usually run them).

Last couple of weeks I've had something throaty, feels like I've got a golf ball lodged low in my windpipe. Makes me feel all vomity.

Good luck everyone, get well soon!

Afonavon · 23/02/2019 18:43

Yup, like a cold , but with constant nausea and a lump in my throat. It finally went, but now I’ve another bastard cold with the lump in theoat, tickly cough and dodgy stomach.

moomin4071 · 14/03/2019 08:54

I had this from Christmas until the middle of February. Thought it had passed until this last day or two and the dizziness has come back with a vengeance:(

icarriedaturnip · 14/03/2019 08:56

I can feel it brewing but it hasn’t properly come out yet, I just feel very under the weather and keep getting really dizzy and light headed, have a sore throat, headache and the runs too. It’s horrible

PhalangeReginaPhalange · 14/03/2019 08:57

Yep blergh DC hadn’t it first mines just come out full force. Hope everyone is on the mend x

Afonavon · 14/03/2019 17:24

How weird, I am once again with cold, and a queasy stomach (I have never felt nauseous with a cold until these last two colds. Also been very much on the verge of fainting any time I’ve stood up. Urgh, I hope it goes before this weekend as I don’t fancy a cold on top of the planned hangover which will be happening.

fussychica · 14/03/2019 17:44

Yup.
Had it at half term along with DH and we were both really poorly. Thought I was on the mend and went out to get my hair done as planned. 36 hours later I was in a worse state than ever. Didn't eat anything at all for a week, felt so sick. Lost 12lbs and I'm not a large lady. DH said he had never known me to be so I'll in the 40 years we've been married. Saw doctor in the end and was prescribed antibiotics for secondary infections of the eyes and stomach. He said if I didn't improve in 48 hours I might need to be hospitalised,Shock I got a bit scared then.
Just finished the antibiotics. Still in bed in the mornings and on the sofa in afternoon. No energy at all but hopefully on the road to recovery now as eating again.
Hope any suffers feel better soon.

HironsBirons · 14/03/2019 17:48

I’ve had it since the end of November Sad

woodhill · 14/03/2019 17:51
