I have tried various internet searches and I'm overwhelmed by the options so I'm hoping a kind MNer has some insight into my holiday search.
I'm hoping to go for a day trip to Disneyland Paris (possibly overnight) followed by a two/three night stay in Normandy in mid July. Ideally we would travel by Eurostar to DLP, train to Normandy and then Eurostar home
I'm looking for recommendations for Normandy bases and reassurance that travelling by train between DLP and Normandy is doable. My searches have been DLP to Caen and St. Malo which are coming out as 4 hours (fine) with 3 changes (not ideal). Is there an option I'm missing?
DH would like to see the WWII beaches/museums. DS (12 yo) doesn't mind as long as there is WiFi 
and I would like accommodation within reasonable distance of a nice restaurant and a supermarket as it is likely that we will be self catering although I would be overjoyed at hotel recommendations.
Can anyone help please?
