Where the fuck is the fucking chicken?

I came home about 9.30 this morning and unpacked the shopping. Had a double pack of chicken which I split and put one half in the freezer and one in the fridge.

I now need the chicken and it is nowhere to be seen. The freezer half is there but not the other half.

It is not in the bin, the recycling, the fridge or freezer, the shopping bag or any cupboards. It is not in the lounge or the study. There are no other adults here who could have moved it.

WTF? Where is my chicken?

Did make coffee but mugs and coffee jar sit out on shelves and it's not there

Bless your DS OP, that was very sweet of him Smile

DappledThings · 22/02/2019 18:16

Oh my god.

This is the worst end to a thread ever.

It's in the fridge. It was turned on its side and I looked through it 10 times.

I am so embarrassed. And sorry for everyone invested.

Did you have to go to the loo urgently? Could it be upstairs somewhere?

eggsandwich · 22/02/2019 18:17

Did you check the bin? I’ve got form for putting things in the bin by mistake.

TheSassyAssassin · 22/02/2019 18:17

Do you store your shopping bags in a cupboard? Has it gone in there?

DappledThings · 22/02/2019 18:18

For some reason it being on its side made it look a different colour and I thought it was lardons.

I'm going to sit quietly in the corner now and think about how I've let everyone down

Ah. X-post. The chicken is alive and well and in the fridge! What time do you want us all round to eat it OP?

DappledThings · 22/02/2019 18:20

TheSassyAssassin It's the least I can do. Risotto ok?

I'm delighted for you. It took me a week to find the pepper grinder (in the fridge, condiment shelf on the door) - enjoy your chicken!

This made me laugh op! That's not too bad. The other day i boiled the kettle for water to boil for pasta. Once the kettle boiled i promptly took the kettle to the hob, placed it carefully and was just turning the gas on when i shouted, to my self, what am i doing????

DappledThings · 22/02/2019 18:24

Glad you didn't blow yourself up dudsville!

I did one lose my phone for 24 hours and find it in the recycling. And shampoo in the fridge. So I have some form!

You need to go to the other MNetter's flat and find her ironing board!

DappledThings · 22/02/2019 18:27

ineedaholidaynow. I will. And I'll take some chicken risotto.

iklboo · 22/02/2019 19:11

Its ok OP. I once walked round for half an hour looking for my keys that were IN MY HAND!

ReaganSomerset · 22/02/2019 19:14

Don't worry, OP. I find things are often in the first place I looked.

I once found Cystitis medicine in the box of spare light bulbs several weeks after I'd lost it.
(several weeks after having to return to chemist to buy another pack)

I love these threads. 😂😂

This brings back awful memories of the time two pork chops fell out of my week’s supermarket shopping in the boot of my car.
I’d just got them to restock the freezer, so I didn’t miss them when making meals that week.
For three weeks I didn’t use my car, as I was travelling with DH in his. It was summer time.
You can perhaps imagine the unbelievable stink that met me as I finally opened my car door three weeks later...
Be thankful your chicken was in the fridge, OP!

hellenbackagen · 22/02/2019 19:34

Op
Can you go find the ironing board now? (See lost ironing board thread!)
