Where the fuck is the fucking chicken?

I came home about 9.30 this morning and unpacked the shopping. Had a double pack of chicken which I split and put one half in the freezer and one in the fridge.

I now need the chicken and it is nowhere to be seen. The freezer half is there but not the other half.

It is not in the bin, the recycling, the fridge or freezer, the shopping bag or any cupboards. It is not in the lounge or the study. There are no other adults here who could have moved it.

WTF? Where is my chicken?

DS(3) just said "Here it is!" and gave me this chicken.

He was so pleased with himself.

I had the same thing happen with some hamburgers that mysteriously disappeared after I unpacked my shopping. They never turned up - I have concluded that a hungry burglar stole them.

No hall table. There's a bag in the hall with presents for my new neice I'm seeing tomorrow but it's not there.

What do you store it in in the fridge - a freezer bag type thing or Tupperware etc? Did you get as far as putting it in those?

When this sort of thing happens to me, it sometimes helps if I sit quietly and mentally retrace my steps!

Im so sorry but I think I'm more invested in this than the ironing board( I'm so fickle). Any chance you brought it outside? Do you have any pets? Did you put it away with your coats?

Not had a coat on today. Not in dressing up box or the toy oven. Not stored in any Tupperware or anything, just in freezer as is. It's one of these snap packs.

Not on pantry shelves, handbag, change bag or the basket of slightly useful crap in the lounge

What did you do immediately after putting it in the fridge?

Do you have the receipt? Are you certain you bought two? Could you have left it in the shopping trolley or in the car? Toddler put it somewhere?

99% sure. Unless it was with the double snap packs and I didnt notice it was a single. And I've imagined snapping it in half. Which I could have done!

I was once very pissed off asda hadn’t delivered my pate. Later that month I was cross my sink smelt so vile. I then found an exploded pack of pate in the under sink cupboard. Rancid pate is worst smell ever. You’ll be able to sniff it out in a couple of days! HTH!

Not yet. Will have to wait till after DC bedtime for that. DH is out so I'm flying solo tonight. Which does mean searches so far have been a little quick probably.

did you make coffee or tea after putting the shopping away? Look in that cupboard.
