Why do so many people on TV (women mainly) constantly wave their hands around when talking? I notice it particularly on the Daily Politics. Is it something that people are told to do by 'advisors' ? I find it extremely distracting.

It probably has a name. If I sit on my hands I can't speak very loquaciously. What's that all about?

It does make people take more notice of what your saying.

That's why Hitler was advised to do it.
