Softening New boots

Does anyone have any tips for breaking in softening New leather boots please
?
I bought some new ones yesterday,wore them for a couple of hours now have very sore feet! Thanks very much

I have a leather hammer that I use in my jewellery making, I use it to hammer my boots and make them softer
