I've been in hospital this week, and my sister has been an absolute rock. She's been amazing much nicer than most of the nurses who were bitches. I saw this Gizela Graham parakeet when I was shopping on holiday in Bath back in the Autumn, and thought it would be perfect for my sister then but couldn't buy it as she was with me. I thought it'd be around for ever and I'd wait til nearer the time to source one for her birthday in summer. Now I've decided to get her a 'Thank you' present and remembered the parrot but they've disappeared! You can get weird plain blue/green/silver/white ones in the same shape but that's not what I want at all. It has to be the exact same ornament as in the link. If you happen to see one in a shop somewhere, or if you're bored and fancying a challenge, online, please give me a shout! It needs to be brand new.

Thanks! Smile

Nice to call nurses bitches.

Perhaps you were a difficult patient?

MrsAird · 21/02/2019 19:11

that is a very weird website - no phone number, some of the prices are very odd amounts - might be an idea to check for reviews before buying

RhymingRabbit · 21/02/2019 19:19

@Kettleon80 Maybe they were horrible? Nurses aren't exempt from being nasty are they? Certainly two of the nurses who worked where my Dad died were absolute dicks. They phoned me specifically to tell me my dad was being difficult - he had a massive brain tumour and had no control over how he was behaving. He thought he was in his own bedroom and couldn't understand why people were trying to make him sit up. They shouted at him constantly - like he was a naughty school boy. A 70 year old man who was dying. So yeah - maybe they were bitches.

claybakefan · 21/02/2019 19:20

That website appears to have simply lifted items from other websites. I doubt they're actually stocking anything.

RhymingRabbit · 21/02/2019 19:20

On a nicer note - I really love that parakeet. My husband would go bananas if I tried to put it up on our naice walls but I LOVE it.

Eminybob · 21/02/2019 19:24

And have you seen the website address? Some disco company by the looks of it...

FurrySlipperBoots · 21/02/2019 20:51

Kettle, believe me, I wouldn't use such a strong term lightly. Some of them were worth their weight in gold but there were certainly others who were in it for the wrong reasons. The individuals I'm talking about were toxic people. Anyway, back on topic...

What's a disco company?

Kettleon80 · 21/02/2019 20:57

Yeah I probably was a bit harsh there. My mums a nurse and I know the utterly shite conditions they work in and the expectations. In my experience most are angels - just doesn't seem right to me to call nurses bitches...

Anyway. Sorry for hijacking.

Foraminutethere · 21/02/2019 21:04

Don't buy anything from that website under any circumstances.

FurrySlipperBoots · 21/02/2019 21:22

Foraminutethere Oh no, how come?

op look closely at the website. It has all the hallmarks of a fake website designed to catch your credit card details;

  • there is no postal address or phone number, let alone an address in the uk; if you click on "contact us' you just get a form to fill out with your name and address. Where is their name and address?
- the website address appears to be some strange hosting company - the prices for items don't end in .99 or .95 or.50 like normal website prices, they are random numbers - there is no proper information about returns - every single item is reduced by an extraordinary amount

I think it's a scam.

FurrySlipperBoots · 21/02/2019 22:56

Thanks guys! That was nearly very nasty. I'm over the hills and far away on painkillers so wouldn't have noticed.

Back to the drawing board then! Please keep looking peeps.
