Seems to be a lot of pre brexit stockpiling going on here. But none in real life Confused

The rest of that paragraph says

"However at the time of year we will be leaving the EU the UK is particularly reliant on the short channel crossings for fresh fruit and vegetables. In the absence of other action from Government some food prices are likely to increase and there is a risk that consumer behaviour could exacerbate or create shortages in this scenario. As of February 2019 many businesses in the food supply industry are unprepared for a no deal scenario."

Equimum · 26/02/2019 21:00

Only if my DH is a secret mumsnetter 🤣. He has been adding tins, pasta, olive oil and balsamic vinegar to every order for weeks!

Windingstreams · 26/02/2019 21:21

I didn’t say they wouldn’t be price rises. I’ve acknowledged that in all my posts. And that fresh food may be affected for a while. However there won’t be any drastic need to stockpile months of dried foods like many are advocating - and no post Brexit barter system necessary 🤣

Windingstreams · 26/02/2019 21:22

We’re clearly not leaving end of March anyway...

Yoneri · 26/02/2019 21:27

I think only old people can do that

bellinisurge · 26/02/2019 21:43

@Windingstreams . I'm a prepper. I've been on most of these threads. I have at no point ever advocated that people save months of dried food. Or bartering. But, by all means make shit up.

Windingstreams · 27/02/2019 18:57

@bellinisurge I’m pretty sure I didn’t mention your name. I know you’re pretty into prepping but you’re not the only prepper out there.....

bellinisurge · 27/02/2019 19:01

Ok @Windingstreams , name the poster that has said the things you claim.or does ridiculous hyperbole make you feel better?

RockinHippy · 27/02/2019 19:19

I know lots of people in RL who are gathering stuff together

BlackeyedGruesome · 27/02/2019 20:08

I haven't had chance to speak to anyone about it.

Windingstreams · 27/02/2019 20:23

No Bellini I’m not trawling back through a massive post to find you random names, I’m doing more fun stuff! Don’t get so stressed, this is only an Internet forum with different people and different views. I’m not trying to upset you personally.

bellinisurge · 27/02/2019 21:03

So you are just another drive by poster. Pop in. Say some made up bollocks. Pop out again.
Have fun.

Windingstreams · 27/02/2019 21:09

@bellini I’m trying to be kind here but you seem a little anxious. This is a forum, popping in and out is what we’re meant to do. If you’re committed to something and that thing is prepping then good luck to you. As long as you’re happy then that’s what matters!

PrawnOfCreation · 27/02/2019 21:17

I’m trying to be kind here bloody hell, @windingstreams I wouldn't admit to that level of personal failure, but kudos for owning it.

Windingstreams · 27/02/2019 21:42

I’m going to step out here as arguing on the internet with strangers isn’t a healthy pastime and I refuse to be drawn further into this. I’ve said I’m sorry if I upset Bellini, to me this was just a chatty thread but it’s obviously struck a nerve.

@prawnofcreation try not to resort to personal attacks on people, it feeds into an anonymous attacking culture which just isn’t kind

People be happy, we’re only on this planet for a short time!

PrawnOfCreation · 27/02/2019 21:58

try not to resort to personal attacks on people

You've read your previous post, haven't you? I can understand you misconstrued some of the preppers comments and added some hyperbolic jazz to comfort yourself that we're all crackers, but there's really no excuse for not keeping up with your own comments.

bellinisurge · 28/02/2019 06:05

@Windingstreams I hope you haven't been fretting that you upset meGrin.
I am very bored of people popping onto these threads, trotting out hyperbole as you did and then wandering off.
Other people lurk around these threads, often with concern about their personal situation and I think it is very important to ensure that nonsense posts like yours was are quickly dismissed. Otherwise people with genuine concern might think this is all about buying months of dried food or whatever drivel you came out with.
I really don't take it personally. Do what you like. But remember that when you pop on with your jolly little "I'm having too much fun to buy months of dried food like you lot" and that is the latest post on this thread you might be giving someone the wrong impression about these threads. Some one who could do with a bit of practical proportionate advice and moral support.
